Helping Nurses Do Their Jobs

Emily Potts Feb 22, 2021 2:00:38 AM

Nurses are a hot commodity right now, but retaining skilled nurses, even before the COVID-19 pandemic, has been challenging and replacing them is costly. According to the 2019 National Healthcare Retention & RN Staffing Report, from Nursing Solutions Inc., it costs between $40,300 and $64,000 to replace one clinical nurse, with the average hospital losing $4.4 million to $6.9 million each year.

The biggest reasons nurses leave include long shifts, peer-to-peer relationships and poor leadership. Exhaustion and mental stress are the biggest contributing factors in recent times, with surging COVID-19 cases in hospitals.

AI TO THE RESCUE

Artificial intelligence (AI) technologies like VSTOne , can alleviate some of the burdens placed on nurses. VSTOne continuously monitors COVID-19 patient vitals, reducing rounding and minimizing potential infection. When a patient’s vitals change, staff are alerted, and appropriate response protocols go into effect.

To learn more how you can use AI to augment your nurses so they are less stressed and more productive, request a VSTOne demo.
